About The Position

Able to pick and process Pipe orders, safely bundle / band and stage all product to be safely transported. Tag each bundled / banded product with the appropriate branch tag. Must be forklift certified on a sit-down forklift to safely pull all pipe orders / transfers. Able to safely use an overhead crane to bundle / band all product staging. Stage, load, and unload finished product and raw materials. (Stock and maintain). Unload Flatbed trailers of pipe, account for the delivery accuracy, stock in proper yard stocking location, makes sure material is secure and available to be safely picked for all transfer orders. Required to make sure all inbound paperwork is in order and accurate. Must be able to operate pipe boom to assist in loading our outbound trailers for delivery to our customers and branches.

Requirements

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating equipment.
  • Work involves frequent bending, lifting of material and product from 50 – 100 pounds.
  • Need to be able to withstand exterior hot and cold environments throughout the shift (such as snow, wind, rain, sleet, and sunshine)
  • Walking and standing are required for long periods of time
  • Must possess excellent communication skills to communicate issues or concerns to management in a timely manner
  • Communicate to management when needed supplies are running low
  • Maintain the internal and external pipe area in a clean, professional manner
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification preferred but will provide certification.
  • Knowledge of plumbing pipe product a huge plus.
  • RF gun knowledge / experience helpful
  • Pipe-crane experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, labeling, metal banding, pipe tape bundling).
  • Stage finished product for loading in designated pipe staging area, keeping the same branches together and correctly labeled.
  • Load finished product onto truck using forklift and forklift boom.
  • Unload materials from truck, trailer or flatbed.
  • Move materials to pipe racking storage location
  • Move waste to dumpsters.
  • Responsible for keeping the entire outside yard clean, neat and organized including disposing of broken pipe.
  • Responsible for keeping the entire inside pipe neat and organized including disposing of broken pipe.
  • Responsible for quality control for all outbound shipments of pipe.
  • No damaged product is sent out.
  • No damaged material is accepted in.
  • Report damaged product to IC when discovered
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Operate forklift, crane and Hysters
  • Complete crane and forklift inspection as per OSHA requirements
  • Cycle count all pipe product and record accurate quantities
  • Communicate with operators from other branches.
  • Clean and maintain work area.
  • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
  • Pulling non-pipe material as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
