About The Position

Performs a variety of duties in connection with receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping within a warehouse area. May be required to operate a forklift in conjunction with normal duties.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Must obtain and maintain a forklift license.
  • Eighteen months of experience performing warehousing related duties such as receiving, storing, issuing, shipping, operation of manual material movement equipment, etc., or similar work that provided the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of the position.
  • Associate must receive Hazardous Material (HazMat) training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and unloads incoming merchandise deliveries, including opening, inspecting, counting, marking, unpacking, segregating, and tagging items.
  • Verifies items against appropriate documentation for accuracy in items and quantities, checking cost and retail prices, and reporting discrepancies to a supervisor.
  • Warehouses stock according to specified locations, periodically checking labels or bins for accuracy and correcting or notifying a supervisor of any issues.
  • Pulls merchandise for shipment, transfers, or customer orders, verifying information on documents against merchandise or labels.
  • May provide assistance in the charge back area, performing limited tasks related to the receipt, storage, and shipping of over-shipped or damaged merchandise.
  • Assists in preparing charge backs and processing them according to established procedures.
  • Performs periodic inventories as required and assists the supervisor with inventory preparation.
  • Performs basic housekeeping duties to maintain stock areas clean and orderly.
  • Operates material handling equipment (MHE) capable of lifting up to 10,000 pounds as high as 30 feet to move, load, unload, transfer, transport, stack, or unstuck merchandise, materials, and supplies.
  • Operates manual material movement equipment up to 2,500 pounds to move, load, unload, transfer, transport, stack, or unstuck merchandise, materials, and supplies.
  • Works under general supervision, carrying out assigned duties in accordance with established policy and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
