About The Position

Serves as a working leader with responsibility for leading three or more warehouse personnel engaged in receiving, storing, and/or shipping stock and supplies. The representative level of work led is NA-4. As a team leader, demonstrates proper work methods required to start and complete assigned work, ensures needed materials and tools are available, and works with associates in performing established procedures. Sets the pace by performing the nonsupervisory work of the same kind and level as that of the associates led. Relays instructions from the supervisor to associates, checks working progress for compliance with supervisor's instructions on work guidelines and procedures, and ensures work is completed within the timeframe set by the supervisor. Answers associates' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Provides information to the supervisor on the status of work operations and provides input for work performance appraisals and recommends leave. Assures that safety and housekeeping rules are followed. Establishes and monitors preventative maintenance and repair programs for vehicles, determines maintenance and repair priorities, establishes maintenance schedules, and reviews and evaluates work-in-process and completed work to assure compliance with established standards. Reviews and analyzes major component repairs and provides guidance as required. Ensures that daily inspections of fleet equipment are performed by operators and complies with all federal, state, and DOD regulations. Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor who issues instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines, and relies upon the incumbent to assure that work assignments are carried out by other associates. The supervisor is available to provide information or make decisions regarding problems that may arise during work. Overall work operations are reviewed for status and progress, causes of delays, and resolution of operating problems. Operates a forklift as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Eighteen months experience performing warehousing related duties such as loading, unloading, receiving, storing, and maintaining reorder stock control records or similar work that provided the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of the position.
  • Associate must receive Hazardous Material (HazMat) training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas which require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • May lift and carry supplies and material up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for 12 months of experience.
