About The Position

This position is responsible for performing duties associated with merchandise movement: storing, moving, and distributing product using provided equipment. The role involves leading by example and providing some training to other employees. Key responsibilities include ensuring space efficiency through merchandise movement, preparing items for various destinations (show floor, storage, delivery, pickup, shipment), managing merchandise flow using the POS system, ensuring accuracy in customer orders and system records, and handling both incoming (unloading, identifying, inspecting, tagging, receiving) and outgoing (unpacking, inspecting, assembling, wrapping) merchandise processes. Additionally, the role requires leading by example and providing training to other employees, communicating professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors, resolving inventory discrepancies, and keeping management informed. The position also involves adhering to Lean practices, performing other duties as directed by a supervisor, assisting with grounds and building maintenance, and ensuring adherence to safety policies and practices. This includes modeling safe behaviors, reducing risks, preventing damage to equipment and merchandise through proper handling and operation, following guidelines and specifications, and maintaining a safe, organized facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
  • Basic math.
  • Knowledge of tools and hardware components and product assembly.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Basic computer knowledge is required.

  • POS knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Move and condense merchandise within locations to ensure space efficiency.
  • Move merchandise to and from show floor; display or rewrap for storage, delivery, customer pickup or shipment.
  • Use point of sale (POS) system to manage flow.
  • Ensure accuracy on customer orders and system records.
  • Unload, identify, inspect, tag, and receive incoming merchandise.
  • Unpack, inspect, assemble and wrap outgoing merchandise to ensure unblemished arrival.
  • Lead by example and provide some training to other employees.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, vendors.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy by resolving discrepancies.
  • Keep management informed on inventory.
  • Adhere to Lean practices.
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor including working a different schedule or in a different location.
  • Assist with grounds and building maintenance.
  • Assist with lighting.
  • Adhere to safety policies and practices and consistently model safe behaviors and risk reduction procedures.
  • Avoid damage to equipment/merchandise through proper handling, operating, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Follow pre-established guidelines and manufacturers specifications.
  • Maintain a safe, organized facility.
  • Abide by company rules and expectations.
