About The Position

This role is responsible for various warehouse duties including unloading inbound shipments, receiving products, moving products to storage locations, and accurately recording storage locations for inventory control. The position also involves pulling and preparing products for shipping, transfer, or manufacturing use, ensuring correct items and quantities are handled. Efficient and safe movement of products, maintaining inventory accuracy through record-keeping and participation in physical inventories and cycle counts are key. The role requires inspecting and maintaining PIT equipment, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking products, as well as sorting and repairing pallets. Additionally, the position involves cleaning containers, trailers, and truck bays, and potentially providing customer service for onsite vending, employee orders, and express mail/freight deliveries. All employees are expected to uphold the company's Food Safety and Quality Policy, including adherence to Food Safety and Sustainability programs and required training.

Requirements

  • Must be certified PIT operator
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Six months to one year related experience.
  • Must be able to speak and read English or Spanish.
  • Must have basic English verbal skills.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract numbers and to multiply and divide and understand percentages.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Valid motor vehicle license and certification as PIT driver
  • Regularly required to stand.
  • Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit and talk or hear.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision.

Responsibilities

  • Unload inbound shipments safely and receive according to Amy’s Kitchen Receiving Procedures and move product to storage locations.
  • Efficiently stack and store product and accurately record storage locations for purposes of inventory control.
  • Pull and prepare product for shipping, transfer or usage by manufacturing (staging) ensuring that the exact item and quantity is pulled and shipped, transferred or staged.
  • Efficiently, safely and with minimum damage, move products or materials from/into staging, storage or on to transportation.
  • Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee inventory accuracy, control and security are maintained.
  • Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts when required.
  • Inspect PIT before usage, keep equipment, tools and company property neat and clean.
  • Change and charge PIT batteries as needed.
  • Sorting, wrapping, packing, repacking as needed.
  • Sort and repair pallets when necessary.
  • Clean containers, trailers and truck bays as requested.
  • Provide customer service to Amy’s Employees with respect to maintaining onsite vending equipment for Amy’s Kitchen products, providing customer service for Amy’s employee orders, and the prompt and accurate receipt and delivery of all express mail/freight deliveries.
  • Other duties as assigned.
