About The Position

Staples is hiring a warehouse associate for its World Class Supply Chain Team. Associates may be assigned to any of six warehouse areas—Bulk/Material Handling Equipment Operator, Porter, Replenishment, Receiving/Putaway/Returns, Returns, or Shipping—and may be moved into other SC2 or SC1 roles as needed. Work may involve operating material handling equipment, picking and moving products, cleaning and basic facility maintenance, verifying incoming or returned products, resolving discrepancies, manually unloading or loading trucks, palletizing, organizing and shrink-wrapping orders, and maintaining a clean workspace. Safe work practices and adherence to Staples’ safety culture are essential. The role is full-time, second shift, Monday through Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Additional overtime hours are required based on business need. Associates may earn additional compensation by meeting productivity thresholds.

Requirements

• At least three months of related warehouse experience, or an equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience.
• Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent legally permissible.
• Basic English verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work additional hours beyond the scheduled shift; overtime is required based on business need.
• Ability to work at heights of up to 60 feet or more as needed.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull boxes or merchandise weighing 70 to 100 pounds by hand.
• Ability to walk and stand for 100% of the work time.
• Ability to work in a warehouse with seasonal temperature variations.
• Ability to become certified to operate and safely use necessary material handling equipment.
• Ability and willingness to keep the work area clean and follow safety procedures.
• Must wear safety composite shoes.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Prior experience operating warehouse equipment such as a forklift, pallet jack, or cherry picker.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, and electric pallet jacks, to pick and move products safely.
• Perform warehouse replenishment and other warehouse duties as assigned, including work in other SC2 or SC1 roles as needed.
• Clean and perform basic maintenance inside and outside the facility when assigned to Porter duties.
• Confirm product accuracy and work with colleagues to address discrepancies and damage.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external contacts to clarify and resolve issues.
• Manually unload trucks and palletize products when assigned to receiving, putaway, or returns work.
• Match returned item quantities and descriptions to packing slips, check in returned products, and tag items appropriately.
• Organize, stack, and shrink-wrap customer orders on pallets; manually load trucks and stack empty pallets when assigned to Shipping.
• Lift, lower, carry, push, or pull merchandise and keep the work area safe and clean.
• Follow safety procedures and contribute to Staples’ safety culture.
