About The Position

The warehouse technician's primary duty is to ensure all hazardous and non-hazardous materials are managed safely, accurately, and in full compliance with environmental and safety regulations. This involves receiving, inspecting, classifying, and moving materials, as well as responding to spills or other incidents. The warehouse technician will perform quality control inspections to ensure that all documentation, and materials meet regulatory and company standards.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in hazardous waste industry.
  • 40 hour Hazwoper training.
  • DOT and RCRA training.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor.
  • Ability to crawl, stand, bend, stoop, kneel and reach.
  • Ability to wear a respirator and protective clothing.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical, background screening, and drug/alcohol test

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and drum carts for the movement of materials.
  • Select and use the appropriate PPE for specific materials and tasks, and ensure all PPE is properly maintained.
  • Inspect labels, manifests, and other required paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Report any quality anomalies or compliance deviations to the supervisor immediately and assist with incident investigations.
  • Assist with general housekeeping, facility cleanliness, and the upkeep of all safety equipment.
  • Attend all required safety and compliance training sessions and maintain necessary certifications.
