These PCs, which typically include a warehouse, counter, sales office, and sometimes a showroom, operate under unique trade names to cater to local marketplaces. Able Distributing Company, a Hajoca trade name in West Allis, WI, is seeking a Warehouse Teammate. This role involves counting, verifying, and receiving vendor shipments and customer returns, as well as stocking, maintaining, picking, documenting, and packing customer orders. The Teammate will handle shipping discrepancies, identify and store various materials, complete documentation for third-party shipments, and safely operate warehouse equipment like forklifts. Key responsibilities also include informing supervisors of stock issues, ensuring asset security, maintaining warehouse cleanliness and safety, assisting co-workers, and completing required safety and compliance training.

Requirements

  • 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
  • Stock and maintain the warehouse; and pick, document, and pack customer orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
  • Act with a high attention to detail to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Handle all shipping discrepancies per procedures or forward appropriate paperwork to designated employee to handle.
  • Identify nonstock, special-order material, and damaged material and store in proper warehouse locations.
  • Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
  • Load and unload trucks, operate warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Inform immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise that could impact customer service levels.
  • Ensure security and controls are in place and upheld to protect Profit Center assets.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety.
  • Remove empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris.
  • Inform immediate supervisor of safety issues.
  • Assist co-workers in servicing customers.
  • Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
