About The Position

Hajoca Corporation, a large privately-held wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies, is seeking a Warehouse Teammate/Delivery Driver for its Moore Supply Company trade name at the Arlington, TX location. The company emphasizes service, integrity, and reliability, operating in a decentralized environment where each location functions as a local business. This role involves both warehouse duties, such as receiving, stocking, and order fulfillment, and delivery driving responsibilities, ensuring safe operation of vehicles and accurate delivery of merchandise. The position requires a detail-oriented, safety-conscious individual who enjoys working independently and providing excellent customer service. The pay for this position is between $21 and $23 per hour.

Requirements

  • Ability to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license.
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver.
  • Able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and at least every two years while employed.
  • 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing driving motor vehicles.
  • Ability to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Ability to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to learn and operate computer-related systems used in the delivery process.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
  • Stocking and maintaining the warehouse; picking, documenting, and packing customer orders.
  • Handling shipping discrepancies and identifying nonstock, special-order, and damaged material.
  • Completing necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
  • Loading and unloading trucks, and operating warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Informing immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise.
  • Ensuring security and controls are in place to protect Profit Center assets.
  • Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety, and removing debris.
  • Assisting co-workers in servicing customers.
  • Performing all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
  • Successfully completing required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Operating trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Loading the truck with merchandise to be delivered and securing the load properly.
  • Understanding shipping documents, having accurate directions, and reviewing shipping documentation for order accuracy.
  • Unloading correct merchandise from the truck and obtaining legible signatures for all deliveries.
  • Collecting and securing outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries.
  • Resolving shipping discrepancies with customers at the delivery site.
  • Loading the truck at other locations with merchandise picked up at vendor locations, returned by customers, and purchased from other wholesalers.
  • Providing sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses discovered during deliveries.
  • Inspecting the truck and required parts and accessories prior to departure and keeping the truck clean.
  • Advising management of any mechanical problems with the truck and completing the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report when necessary.
  • Removing keys from the truck at the end of the workday and storing them in the approved location.
