About The Position

This role is for a Warehouse Teammate/Delivery Driver on the Early Shift (4:00 AM - 3:00 PM). The position requires a strong focus on customer experience, safety, and attention to detail for accurate order fulfillment. Responsibilities include receiving and stocking warehouse inventory, picking, packing, and documenting customer orders, and handling shipping discrepancies. The role also involves loading and unloading trucks, operating warehouse equipment like forklifts, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness and safety. The driver aspect of the role includes safely operating trucks (over 10,000 lbs) for deliveries to various locations, ensuring proper loading and securing of merchandise, reviewing shipping documents, unloading and placing merchandise, collecting payments for cash sales, resolving discrepancies, and providing sales leads. Drivers are also responsible for daily truck inspections and reporting any mechanical issues.

Requirements

1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience
Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
As a non-CDL driver, you must be at least 21 years old
Possess a proper and valid driver’s license
Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and again at least every two years while employed and performing this job function.
Read, write, speak, and understand English.
Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

Counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
Stocking and maintaining the warehouse.
Picking, documenting, and packing customer orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
Handling shipping discrepancies per procedures or forwarding appropriate paperwork.
Identifying nonstock, special-order material, and damaged material and storing in proper warehouse locations.
Completing necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
Loading and unloading trucks, operating warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
Informing immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise.
Ensuring security and controls are in place to protect Profit Center assets.
Maintaining warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety.
Removing empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris.
Informing immediate supervisor of safety issues.
Assisting co-workers in servicing customers.
Performing all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards.
Successfully completing required safety and compliance training programs.
Operating trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
Loading the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered.
Securing the load properly so that nothing will shift, get damaged, or fall from the truck.
Ensuring that the necessary equipment to safely unload the merchandise is available.
Understanding the shipping documents that are associated with the merchandise for each delivery and having accurate directions to each delivery destination.
Reviewing shipping documentation and ensuring order accuracy.
Unloading correct merchandise from the truck and placing it where the receiving party wants it.
Obtaining legible signature for all merchandise delivered per Company policy and procedure.
Collecting and securing outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries prior to releasing the material to the customer.
Working with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
Loading the truck at other locations with merchandise.
Providing sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses discovered in the course of making deliveries.
Inspecting the truck and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating condition prior to departure.
Keeping truck clean of debris in cab and body.
Advising management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
Completing the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report when driving a delivery vehicle with a gross vehicle weight (GVWR) of 10,001 lbs. or more if a defect or deficiency is found.
Removing keys from the truck and storing keys in the approved location at the end of the workday.
