About The Position

Coastal Beverage Company, Inc., the leading beverage distributor in Eastern North Carolina, is looking for a WAREHOUSE TEAM MEMBER 1. This role is responsible for safely moving, picking, and loading beverage products onto delivery trucks. The ideal candidate is a service-driven professional looking for a solid career with a growing company, possessing excellent time management and customer service skills.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess a minimum of three months similar or related experience.
  • Forklift and/or walkie-rider/electronic pallet jack experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, bar graphs, and procedure manuals.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to perform physical work.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior distribution warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Move product or material to proper location in warehouse and rotate product in bins to ensure proper rotation of stock and eliminate picking errors.
  • Assist in the repackaging of damaged product following all Company and vendor requirements, and apply required safety procedures such as wearing cut resistant gloves and safety glasses.
  • Ensure proper pull of order based on SKU and product codes while maintaining proper rotation of stock utilizing FIFO (First In First Out) and sell by dates. Mark pick tickets for out of stock items.
  • Provide courteous and prompt customer service for in-house orders. Respond to pages and greet customers, pull orders and assist customers with loading. Represent CBC professionally by adhering to company uniform and appearance standards.
  • Report invalid SKU's, damaged product and excessive discrepancies. Sign, date, and ship orders, receiving and other paperwork and enter data into the computer system.
  • Operate forklift according to Company and regulatory requirements, keep certification up to date and report all accidents immediately. Complete daily pre-ride report to document and report physical damage, and/or mechanical or electrical problems with forklift. Maintain fluid levels on assigned forklift and ensure that it is kept charged.
  • Maintain clean and organized working area by cleaning and reorganizing while working. Responsible for immediate clean up of all spills and damaged products, reporting same to Supervisor or manager for documentation. Complete partial pallets and puts away mixed pallets.
  • Wear all required PPE (personal protection equipment). Load orders following safe work habits and safe lifting techniques. Report near miss incidents and unsafe work situations or conditions. Immediately report all accidents and near misses to supervisor or manager for documentation, investigation and correction.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
