About The Position

Spreetail is seeking a Systems & Controls Engineer to bridge day-to-day operational reliability with forward-looking automation initiatives, ensuring systems are designed, implemented, and maintained to support safe, scalable, and cost-effective operations. This role will work closely with the Senior Manager, Facilities & Engineering and Program Manager, Network Expansion to evaluate, deploy, and optimize systems including conveyance, controls, and emerging automation technologies (e.g., vision AI, sortation, drones). The role is responsible for ensuring technical quality, system performance, and sound engineering decisions across both existing operations and new initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related) or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience supporting MHE, conveyance, facilities systems, or automation in warehouse, manufacturing, or similar environments.
Working knowledge of: Conveyance systems and material handling equipment; sensors, photo-eyes, relays, and basic controls concepts; and mechanical and electrical system interactions.
Experience troubleshooting system-level issues in operational environments.
Experience working with vendors, contractors, or system integrators.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting automation systems (sortation, robotics, vision systems, etc.) and familiarity with controls architecture or PLC-adjacent systems is preferred.
