About The Position

Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing a unique range of analytical testing services to clients across multiple industries to make life and our environment safer, healthier, and more sustainable. Eurofins laboratories work with the biggest companies in the world to ensure the products they supply are safe, their ingredients are authentic, and labelling is accurate. Eurofins is dedicated to delivering testing services that contribute to the health and safety of society and the planet, and to its corporate responsibility to protect the environment and ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion across the entire network of Eurofins companies. This role involves applying GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, demonstrating and promoting the company vision, and maintaining regular attendance and punctuality. The position requires performing basic micro lab techniques/analyses and preparing media/cultures, contributing to a small team of analysts using bacterial test systems (i.e. Total Coliform testing, E. coli testing, Total Plate Counts, and MPNs). The role also includes assisting in writing, reviewing, and editing reports, protocols, and SOPs, and efficiently carrying out procedures necessary to complete each analysis with minimal supervision. Meticulously maintaining precise records of all analyses in accordance with good laboratory practice is essential. The job involves culturing and enumerating infectious bacterial pathogens using routine microbiological techniques, entering data into the LIMS computer system, and maintaining/calibrating equipment (Incubators, water baths, refrigerators, etc.). Preparing and washing glassware is also a key responsibility. Additionally, the role involves receiving and unloading incoming samples or consignments in accordance with DOT regulations, verifying receipt against Chain of Custody (COC), matching it to the corresponding quote, and noting discrepancies. Verifying COC accuracy, completeness, and correctness and seeking resolution for any issues is required. Samples are logged into the Lab Management System daily to assign a lot number for tracking purposes, and paperwork is distributed to Project Managers. Samples are labeled for identification by lot number and distributed to appropriate labs for analysis. Bottle kits are prepared daily for shipping to clients to collect samples and return for analysis in accordance with established procedures, including EPA and DOT requirements. Samples may be forwarded to other laboratories as needed. Spent samples, waste, and other potentially hazardous materials are disposed of in accordance with established procedures. Freezer and cooler temperatures are monitored daily to confirm readings are within SOP guidelines. Departments/labs are cleaned and organized daily to promote a clean, safe work environment and smoother flow of daily operations. Safety is maintained and promoted, and all operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally compliant manner. Inventory is stocked and supplied daily, and assistance is provided with inventory of supplies to maintain proper quantity of materials. Splits and composites may be performed as needed. Courier duties may be performed as necessitated to support lab and client needs, requiring compliance with all driver procedures, certification, and company driver policies. The role requires willingness to be on-call during non-business hours for non-routine sampling, delivery, setup, and read back of analyses. Assistance is provided in the maintenance of walk-in coolers. Empty coolers are shipped back to clients and other Eurofins Laboratories, with all outgoing coolers logged for detailed inventory.
