About The Position

The Warehouse Support Specialist is responsible for analyzing warehouse movement data, demand and production data, and project life cycle forecasts for use in making appropriate changes to inventory profiles within the Magpul ERP system. The Warehouse Support Specialist serves as the last pass in the production order closing process, ensuring inventory and cost accuracy. Additionally, the Warehouse Support Specialist is charged with promoting and maintaining adherence to written work instructions and processes. The Warehouse Support Specialist seeks excellence in their daily operations through a sense of pride and ownership in the overall performance (accuracy, safety, efficiency). This position seeks perfection in serving their internal customer, maintains composure under pressure, adjusts to changes in workload/priorities/team dynamics, and motivates those around them through a positive and professional attitude.

Requirements

  • High School degree required.
  • Experience with data analysis in a warehouse required.
  • Must have experience in inventory control in support of a manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate common warehouse equipment (pallet jack, scale, etc.) and powered warehouse equipment (WAVE, order picker, reach truck, etc.).
  • Must understand and be able to apply inventory control and reporting practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work autonomously while maintaining accountability for assigned work within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge with Tier 2 ERP systems. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365 preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, required.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative, motivation, and willingness to work proactively, while prioritizing multiple projects either independently or within a team.

  • The applicant must be authorized to receive Technical Data and/or Technology under U.S. export control laws.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all production order related closing processes and works directly with accounting and all functional areas to ensure inventory and cost accuracy.
  • Works with all functional areas to help resolve discrepancies within the work order closing process. This may include D365 error correction, conducting cycle counts, and initiating and facilitating multi-functional collaboration to reach resolution.
  • With consideration for material and labor costs, works directly with scheduling team, and all necessary departments, to provide ERP solutions for non-standard and one-off production orders (BOM Journals).
  • Review inbound, internal, and outbound movement data to maximize the use of the warehouse's available space (aka “slotting”) by improved storage and picking efficiency and by optimizing product location to balance the warehouse workload.
  • Update and maintain warehouse-specific item fields in the Magpul ERP system to include fixed locations, stocking limits, revisions, product dimensions, production work order sheets, and replenishment.
  • Update and maintain location setup to include zones, profiles, and sort codes to optimize the handling of both put away and picking operations.
  • Assists Warehouse Solution Specialist with testing, data entry, and Magpul ERP warehouse updates as it pertains to process updates and enhancements.
  • Identifies, recommends, and assists with implementation of process enhancements as they relate to Magpul ERP advanced warehouse functionality to include associate training.
  • Review of on-hand inventory impacting website availability utilizing the Magpul ERP system, Magpul.com, and the Magento User Portal.
  • Review location and transaction history to identify unavailable inventory, incomplete transactions, and potential work creation issues.
  • Manage inventory items throughout the product life-cycle beginning with new item setup through to obsolescence.
  • Perform necessary investigations into location and item discrepancies within the Magpul ERP system.
  • Maintain and create ISO/QMS documentation as needed.
  • Ability to work in any area within the warehouse and maintains general understanding of all functional areas and their impact on inventory movement as well as production order accuracy.
  • Act as champion for Magpul Lean Initiatives, including, but not limited to, 5S, identification and elimination of 8 Wastes, quality at the source, process control, and pull systems.
  • Work overtime as required by workload of department.
