About The Position

U.S. Lumber, an SBP brand is currently hiring for a Warehouse Supervisor for our Altoona, PA branch, operating out of Bellwood, PA. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing an operations team responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing, and staging of materials for shipment, including inbound and outbound shuttles of material locally. Expect this role to work cooperatively with other branch leaders, and to be the senior leader and decision maker on dayshift in the Bellwood warehouse on behalf of the business.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 4 years’ related experience in distribution or building materials environment.
  • 2 years of leadership experience.
  • High School diploma.
  • Must have basic math and analytical skills, and familiarity with Microsoft suite.
  • Must pass the required pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Successfully complete any required training or orientation programs.
  • Must achieve and maintain forklift certification.
  • Must have forklift skills with appropriate certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Agility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a team of warehouse associates and material handlers to fulfill customer orders of building materials.
  • Ensuring the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, including product cleanliness and proper labeling.
  • Ensuring that all warehouse associates are working in a safe manner with the needed tools and equipment.
  • Addressing any safety violations, and reporting accidents to branch leadership.
  • Overseeing the daily receiving processes: unloading of incoming freight, receiving of inventory, processing all related documentation, data entry and labeling.
  • Execution of the customer returns processing including inspection, restocking, and system adjustments.
  • Oversight of shuttle process for materials between the Bellwood PA and Claysburg PA location, including picking, packing, staging, loading and shipping as necessary.
  • Overseeing the serviceability and inspection paperwork for the forklifts.
  • Addressing any maintenance concerns with Branch Management and/or the company’s forklift service provider.
  • Ensuring that pick files are distributed to warehouse associates smartly.
  • Monitoring the work progress of warehouse associates to ensure that orders are processed and filled in a timely manner, quality checked, and properly wrapped and staged for loading.
  • Ensuring that Customer Pick-up orders are printed and fulfilled.
  • Assisting warehouse associates with the execution of their job responsibilities when necessary.
  • Managing the flow of work orders and work product through the workday to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity, and accuracy of the warehouse associates.
  • Responsible for all appropriate transactions in Agility, including sales order release and resolution, material receiving and adjustments, substitutions (re-man), etc.
  • Performing cycle counts as assigned.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
