About The Position

Smithfield Foods is seeking an ambitious and problem-solving Warehouse Supervisor to manage critical warehouse operations including receiving, transfers, picking/packing, and shipping. The role involves leading a team, making staffing decisions, and ensuring production goals are met while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Supply Chain or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project.
Knowledge of OSHA Standards, USDA, HACCP and EPA Regulations.
Manufacturing knowledge and understanding of yields, plant efficiencies, and operations procedures.
Knowledge of SAP, Manufacturing software, Inventory software, Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Ensure full compliance with all safety legislation and approved codes of practice, creating a secure environment for the team and operations.
Monitor and manage all warehouse activities, from receiving and storing goods to shipping, ensuring timely operations with minimal errors.
Guarantee that assembled goods are packed and labeled correctly, loading lists are accurate, and all paperwork is complete.
Lead and organize the workforce, identifying training needs through regular performance reviews.
Inspire the team to achieve peak performance while maintaining strong employee relations.
Review and refine working practices to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Ensure all procedures align with company standards and drive continuous improvement across operations.
Compile and maintain essential records, reports, and logs to keep operations transparent and compliant.
Provide leadership and guidance to employees in the Warehouse.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and assisting in providing appropriate resolutions.
