About The Position

We are seeking a 2nd shift Warehouse Supervisor to provide direct supervision and leadership to warehouse personnel across assigned departments. This role requires a visible presence on the warehouse floor, setting examples for safety, productivity, accuracy, and conduct. The supervisor will assign daily work, balance labor, and ensure operational coverage. They will also learn all job functions to assist where needed and partner with management to manage staffing and labor efficiency. This position serves as the first line of defense in employee performance management and discipline, including coaching, corrective conversations, and issuing warnings. Escalation of disciplinary actions and complex employee relations matters to management and HR is also a key function. The supervisor will enforce company policies, safety standards, and conduct safety observations. Accurate execution of warehouse transactions using the WMS, addressing order accuracy and inventory discrepancies, and supporting inventory activities are crucial. Training, coaching, and developing Warehouse Leads and Associates, providing performance feedback, and collaborating on continuous improvement initiatives are also expected. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in work areas and working with customer service to address special order needs are part of the role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of distribution center experience, including demonstrated leadership or supervisory responsibilities
  • Proven experience supervising employees in a warehouse or operations environment
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong math, reading, and analytical skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead with consistency, fairness, and accountability
  • Willing to work overtime when necessary
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks
  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Visual acuity to distinguish detail, color, and other characteristics of material and objects
  • Finger/wrist dexterity for computer keyboard use or handling/packaging product
  • Comfortable working around material handling equipment in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to warehouse personnel across assigned departments
  • Maintain a consistent and visible presence on the warehouse floor, setting examples and expectations for safety, productivity, accuracy, and conduct
  • Assign daily work, balance labor based on volume and priorities, and ensure operational coverage
  • Learn all job functions – picking, packing, QC, waving, replenishment and shipping – to be able to assist where needed
  • Available to assist Manager with audit, review, and approve employee timecards, including attendance exceptions, overtime, and schedule adherence
  • Partner with Management to manage staffing needs, coverage gaps, and labor efficiency
  • Serve as the first line of defense in employee performance management and discipline, including: Coaching and corrective conversations, Verbal and written warnings in accordance with company policy, Timely documentation of performance, attendance, and conduct issues
  • Escalate disciplinary actions, investigations, and complex employee relations matters to Management and Human Resources as required
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, and workplace rules consistently and fairly
  • Conduct safety observations and ensure compliance with material handling, equipment, and facility safety requirements
  • Ensure accurate execution of picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory transactions using the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Review and address order accuracy issues, inventory discrepancies, and process breakdowns
  • Support and validate cycle counts, physical inventories, and audit activities
  • Train, coach, and develop Warehouse Leads and Associates, including onboarding and cross-training
  • Provide performance feedback and input into employee evaluations and development plans
  • Collaborate with Managers and cross-functional partners to drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational discipline in all assigned work areas
  • Perform all other tasks as required when assigned
  • Work with Customer service to address the special needs of orders
