About The Position

Wurth Baer Supply Company is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to lead our distribution operation at our branch in Pennsauken, NJ. This is a hands-on role, requiring active physical execution of daily warehouse operations. The company is a leading specialty wholesale distributor to the woodworking industry, offering an extensive inventory of decorative and functional hardware, board & panel products, woodworking machinery, surfacing materials, tools and shop supplies. Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse supervisory experience.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and successfully pass Würth Baer Supply’s forklift certification program.
  • Ability to complete and train others on Hazardous Material Certification as required by CFR 49, Sections 100-185. Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire, with recurring training every 3 years.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Sit-down propane forklift experience is very important to us. Please do not apply if you are not already proficient in operating this type of forklift.

  • SAP experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising day-to-day operations, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing outbound orders, loading/Unloading trucks, containers, flatbeds, and railcars.
  • Fulfilling/picking large orders of plywood with dimensions such as 4'x8' - 4'x10' - 5' x 10' - 5' x 12'.
  • Picking up/dragging heavy pieces of plywood (90lbs or more) without damaging them into stacks on pallets, then strapping them down with a plastic bander, and staging them for shipment or loading them into a truck.
  • Fulfilling/picking orders of laminate sheets, glue, and other miscellaneous products.
  • Ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and maintaining all company delivery trucks in compliance.
  • Following and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for daily warehouse operations.
  • Utilizing SAP for inventory management, tracking, and warehouse operations.
  • Weekly benchmarking to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Effective communication with sales representatives and customer service teams to address and resolve customer inquiries.
  • Assist with customer will-call order pickups as needed.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse in accordance with safety and operational guidelines.
  • Using performance metrics and reports to monitor, measure, and improve warehouse efficiency.
  • Planning daily workloads to ensure all customer orders received by 3:00 PM are 100% shipped the same day or per customer delivery schedules.
  • Minimizing picking and shipping errors while aiming for a "zero defects" policy.
  • Fostering a customer-focused warehouse environment with high service standards.
  • Ensuring 98% or greater inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts and tracking.
  • Implementing and maintaining warehouse safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and HAZMAT regulations.
  • Providing employee training for forklift operation, hazardous materials handling, and warehouse safety protocols.
  • Ensuring proper routing of company trucks to meet delivery schedules efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Processing outbound orders in LTL shipping area - Fast paced verification of quantities and item condition before loading onto carrier tractor trailers.
  • Processing inbound delivery receipts - Indicate products on receipt match products delivered, noting damages or quantity discrepancies as needed.
  • Working in a team environment on a variety of inbound and outbound warehouse duties.
  • Assist customers with loading their order onto their vehicles.
  • Assist with general warehouse responsibilities (receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping).
  • Other tasks assigned by Warehouse Manager.
