About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for managing and promoting safety and sanitation in all areas of the distribution center. This role involves planning production and staffing needs, collaborating with other departments to maximize productivity, and monitoring order accuracy. The supervisor will conduct meetings with hourly associates, assist in their development and training, and generate productivity reports. They will also supervise and coach direct reports, ensure compliance with established procedures, and maintain effective internal control over the food safety program and master sanitation schedule. This position requires high visibility on shifts to ensure practices are followed and involves evaluating facility sanitary conditions, assessing risks, prioritizing corrective actions, and completing appropriate documentation. The supervisor will also plan and direct sanitation activities, work with management on distribution and staffing, monitor work quality and compliance, and assess progress, train, coach, and issue discipline as necessary.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of distribution systems.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be innovative and capable of making sound decisions.
  • Possess good leadership skills.
  • Must be organized and able to meet deadlines.
  • Must have excellent analytical skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have excellent computer skills: knowledge in Microsoft applications and WMS/WIN.
  • 1 or more years of related experience in Logistics/Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with supervisors and Manager on daily operational activities.
  • Manage and promote safety and sanitation in all areas.
  • Plan production/staffing needs on a daily, weekly, period basis.
  • Work hand in hand with all other areas to maximize productivity and performance.
  • Monitor and meet all order accuracy requirements/expectations.
  • Conduct meetings with hourly associates.
  • Help develop and train hourly associates.
  • Generate productivity reports regarding labor standards, and account for all labor hours, adhering to requirements and works toward obtaining objectives and goals.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties.
  • Ensure compliance with established procedures and maintain effective internal control over the food safety program and adherence to the Master sanitation schedule.
  • Attend and conduct daily operational and safety meetings with hourly associates.
  • Provide high visibility on the shifts to ensure practices are being followed in all areas of the distribution center.
  • File daily, weekly, and monthly inspections according to the master sanitation and food safety compliance regulations.
  • Track, collect, and print Supervisor Bi-Weekly Sanitation inspections and report deficiencies to shift management.
  • Evaluate facility sanitary conditions daily, assess risk base on food safety and public health principles, prioritize corrective actions and verify sanitation activities and validate result.
  • Complete appropriate documentation.
  • Plan & direct sanitation activities & establish sanitation priorities for maintaining clean DC with effective operations & cost factors.
  • Work with Management for distribution and staffing of assigned area.
  • Know assigned areas break and lunch times and monitor continually for work quality and compliance.
  • Actively assess progress and quality of work, train, coach, and issue discipline as necessary.
