About The Position

Manage the day to day operations of the warehouse, shipping and receiving of JM Murray. The Supervisor is expected to work daily alongside the warehouse team and cover any role within the warehouse to achieve daily workloads and priorities. This position performs all hours onsite and at all assigned physical locations. Follows all safety rules and regulations; wears and/or uses required protective equipment while working; immediately addresses and reports any safety concerns or unsafe working conditions to Operations Management. Ensures and conducts all aspects of operations in compliance with the JM Murray mission statement, policies and procedures, professional standards, and applicable governmental laws, rules and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 5 years of operational experience in inventory management, fulfillment operations, and domestic and international shipping
  • Experience supervising and directing a team is required.
  • Sound decision-making skills and judgment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce work according to established timeframes
  • Analytical and process improvement skills to maximize work efficiencies
  • Basic computer skills in order to efficiently use technology for data entry and utilizing reports
  • Familiarity with UPS and Fed X shipping databases
  • Requires a valid NYS Driver’s License that meets Company standards
  • Requires Forklift Certification – can be completed upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and maintains daily work assignments for assigned staff, ensuring that workloads are prioritized according to customer needs.
  • Maximize warehouse space by assessing inventory and available bin locations.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy by assisting cycle counts.
  • Oversees daily EPICOR entries to ensure receipts and shipments are properly transacted and performed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible to coordinate and ensure the timely completion of year-end inventory according to company expectations and timelines.
  • Maintains professional relationships with parcel and LTL vendors.
  • Ensure FIFO (First In/First Out) and Lot Control procedures are followed.
  • When using a company vehicle, leaves it clean inside and free of debris, fueled, and immediately reports any mechanical, safety or other needs for repair and maintenance.
  • Operates equipment including but not limited to motorized lift trucks, motorized pickers, box truck, pallet jacks, shrink wrappers, digital scales.
  • Prior to use, completes the FORKLIFT DAILY CHECKLIST. Ensures all racked materials are stored safely in their bin locations.
  • Ensures warehouse employees receive required training and maintain up to date trainings and certifications, as assigned.
  • Provides ongoing feedback, coaching and supervision to Warehouse employees with regard to job performance; completes timely performance reviews according to company expectations and timeframes.
  • Reviews timecards for Warehouse employees according to the JMM payroll schedule. Approves timecards according to JM Murray policies and procedures.
  • Attends all required and requested training and meetings, and maintains updates and certifications for required training as assigned.
  • Conducts self in a manner as to always contribute to maximum individual growth and in accordance with all regulations and Company policy and procedures. Represents JM Murray and the JM Murray mission in a positive manner, treating people with respect and dignity.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
