About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of all assigned shipping and receiving personnel. This role involves managing the daily routing of all TL and LTL shipments and inbound and outbound transfers, maintaining accurate inventory counts for both finished goods and raw materials, and ensuring all required reports are accurately completed and processed. The supervisor will also work with freight carriers to resolve delivery issues and collaborate with Customer Service to trace shipments and correct errors. Additionally, this position provides guidance and assistance to all Warehouse personnel, monitors and enforces safety and health policies, and reviews adherence to company policies regarding inventory and shipment of product. The role also includes editing customer shipping activity, distributing reports, completing paperwork, and entering/editing raw material paperwork transactions. A key responsibility is reviewing production schedules to ensure material availability.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three years related experience or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of vendors or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to have vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of all assigned shipping and receiving personnel.
  • Daily routing of all TL and LTL shipments and inbound and outbound transfers.

  • Work with freight carriers to solve delivery problems, lost freight, etc.
  • Work with Customer Service when required to trace shipments, and/or track and correct shipping errors.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to all Warehouse personnel.
  • Monitor and enforce R.C. Bigelow Safety and Health policies and procedures.
  • Inspect forklifts and pallet jacks on a routine basis.
  • Review and monitor adherence to RCB policies as they relate to inventory and shipment of product.
  • Edit customer shipping activity, distribute reports and complete paperwork.
  • Enter and edit raw material paperwork transactions.
  • Print and distribute reports.
  • Review detail production schedule and preliminary production schedule and assure materials are available for these schedules.
  • Communicate daily with corporate Customer Service and transportation vendors.
  • Provide time for personnel to complete scheduled training and monitor the results.
  • Directly supervises employees in the Warehouse Department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
