Plans, organizes, and monitors employees to achieve stated production goals at the desired level outlined by the Operations Manager. This role requires the ability to lead people and get results through others, plan ahead, and prepare action plans to achieve results. The supervisor will conduct employee performance reviews and discipline, develop a positive work environment, and ensure shipping, receiving, storage, distribution, and production are performed efficiently. Key responsibilities include making employee decisions (interview, selection, retention), conducting employee training, career counseling, and development. The supervisor will continually review production requirements, assign employees to correct work areas, and balance positive results in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations. They will resolve employee issues through problem-solving, manage inventory accuracy, handle multiple problems, and coordinate daily workflow with other management and warehouse personnel. The role also involves performing accident and near-miss investigations, conducting employee team meetings, and being available to work in all areas of the operation. Promoting accurate, timely communication and setting a positive example are also expected. Ensuring work areas are maintained and unsafe conditions are corrected immediately is crucial.
