About The Position

Mid-Am Building Supply is seeking a motivated and experienced 2nd Shift Warehouse Supervisor to lead our evening warehouse operations. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising warehouse employees, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and driving operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values safety, and is passionate about developing employees while delivering exceptional service to our customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or production environments.
  • Prior supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of college coursework or vocational training.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Knowledge of inventory control and inventory accuracy practices.
  • Experience conducting employee training and safety programs.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and driver dispatching operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise second-shift warehouse employees to ensure a safe, productive, and efficient operation.
  • Coordinate daily warehouse activities, including loading, shipping, receiving, inventory management, and material handling.
  • Establish daily priorities and communicate expectations to team members.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and facility.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct forklift training, certification, and recertification programs.
  • Coordinate and lead safety meetings and employee training initiatives.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Investigate inventory variances, operational issues, and safety incidents while implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of operational reports and required documentation.
  • Maintain critical transactions and processes within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Support employee onboarding, cross-training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with management and other departments to improve service, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Address employee concerns and performance issues through consistent problem-solving and follow-up.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through audits, cycle counts, and effective inventory-control practices.
