About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for directing the shipping process to ensure that all customer orders are pulled, packed, and shipped according to the customer's required shipping date. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the daily cycle counting of the company's entire inventory, managing related cycle counting processes, and supervising the following positions and their corresponding job functions: PDU Material Handler, Receiving Clerks, Inventory Clerks, and the Shipping Lead. This position also requires supervising staffing levels and collaborating with HR and their manager to conduct interviews, hire, promote, review, and discipline employees.

Requirements

  • Requires working knowledge of ERP systems and the ability to learn the company's computer systems at a skill level that allows the employee to perform current job duties in a high-functioning manner.
  • Previous experience supervising employees positively and effectively.
  • Requires knowledge of standard inventory management practices.
  • Requires the ability to effectively use basic computer software systems, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with staff and management.
  • Requires the ability to safely and effectively operate industrial equipment, including, but not limited to, a forklift and pallet jack.
  • Requires the ability to assess a situation, draw a valid conclusion, and make sound recommendations and decisions.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75lbs on an inconsistent basis.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, reach, lift, push, pull, and move about the facility.
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate industrial equipment, including a forklift and pallet jack.
  • Requires a minimum of (36) months of forklift driving experience.
  • Must be certified to drive a forklift and certified to train other employees on how to drive a forklift according to required safety standards.
  • Work will be performed in a warehouse/plant-type environment where temperatures may fluctuate.
  • Responsibilities may require the performance of duties outside the warehouse, but exposure to severe weather and extreme conditions will be minimal.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and perform duties that may require more than one employee's participation to complete the task.
  • Will also be required to work well independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is required.
  • Employees must abide by all company policies. It is the employee's responsibility to stay abreast of policy and procedure changes throughout their employment.
  • Employees are always required to abide by company safety procedures to ensure the maintenance of a safe and hazard-free work environment.
  • Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must always be worn while performing job duties that require the use of PPE.
  • Employees may be required to perform other duties not specified in their job descriptions as requested, directed, or assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant warehouse or supervisory experience.
  • Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) Certification preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant warehouse or supervisory experience.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the following positions and their related job functions: Shipping Lead, Material Handlers, Receiving Clerks, Inventory Clerks, and Warehouse Clerks, as well as other positions as assigned or developed within the department.
  • Monitor the daily activities of employees and ensure the workload for each area is covered. Reallocate duties as needed.
  • Oversee all processes, policies, and procedures within the department for compliance.
  • Oversee all product quality aspects related to inventory, storage, packing, handling, and shipping.
  • Oversee freight company pricing and contracts.
  • Ensure freight carriers meet or exceed our delivery and customer service expectations for the company and our customers.
  • Run reports from the company ERP system (Daily Cycle Count Report).
  • Perform cycle counts and compare the data to the system reports.
  • Reconcile discrepancies/inaccuracies.
  • Verify adjustments with the Materials Manager.
  • Post results of the cycle count in the ERP.
  • Perform backup in the department when staff members are absent or as needed.
  • Approving employee time off using the company's ADP HRIS system.
  • Overseeing employee schedules for department coverage.
  • Completing employee performance reviews.
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Work with HR to hire employees.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources as needed to develop staff, conduct performance reviews, implement improvement plans, and support underperforming employees.
  • Train new and current employees on position duties, standard operating procedures, systems, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with the team to resolve system or procedural issues.
  • Maintain overall appearance, cleanliness, and order of assigned warehouse and department areas.
  • Back-up Shipping Lead as needed.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
