About The Position

Supervise, organize and monitor the flow of goods loaded and unloaded from the trucks to dock and warehouse. Provide training for dock personnel and close monitoring of safety procedures and policies. This role involves providing leadership and direction to dock workers, balers, and truck drivers, maintaining employee schedules, and monitoring production flow. The position is responsible for overseeing the flow of incoming and outgoing materials, routing trucks, and ensuring all safety issues are handled promptly and properly. It also includes responsibilities for inventory management, ensuring deliveries are handled securely, and maintaining the organization and neatness of the dock and warehouse. The role also encompasses equal opportunity employment efforts and preventing harassment.

Requirements

Must show leadership abilities, i.e., able to plan and implement daily operations of the dock area.
Two (2) to Three (3) years’ experience in a Supervisory or Management role required.
The ability to operate a yard dog/tractor is required.
Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to GESMV’s liability insurance provider.
Ability to pass a criminal background check.
Ability to pass random drug screenings.
Strong organizational skills in scheduling and managing people
Proficient in inventory tracking systems and processes
Proficient in warehouse operations – design, layout and organization
Proficient in transportation and logistics functions
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations
Customer Service Oriented with a pleasant disposition
Must be able to follow through with projects and assignments in a timely and efficient manner
Ability to communicate effectively.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well with a broad spectrum of people, including consumers and employees.
The ability to regularly stand, walk, use of hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls
The occasional ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and smell.
The ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
The ability of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction to dock workers, balers, and truck drivers.
Maintain employee schedules and time reporting.
Monitor production flow of trailers and trucks on dock and in warehouses.
Oversee the flow of incoming and outgoing materials in the dock/baler area.
Route trucks and trailers to various stores and site locations.
Check trucks and trailers leaving dock for store supply list and supplies.
Takes an active part in designing and implementing dock worker training programs.
Responsible for dock and warehouse organization and neatness.
Must ensure that all safety issues are handled in a prompt and proper manner, obeying all safety rules and regulations.

Monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies and inventory on empty trailers vs. loaded trailers.
Ensure that incoming deliveries are properly handled and secure in the appropriate area.
