About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor - Planner/Scheduler is responsible for overseeing receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. This role involves supervising both full-time and temporary production Associates, which includes communicating job expectations, planning and appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, and enforcing company systems and policies. Key responsibilities also include prioritizing and coordinating daily warehouse workloads, measuring and reporting the effectiveness of warehousing activities, and ensuring Associates receive proper training on equipment and safety. The supervisor will work to meet operational and financial standards, manage inventory through physical counts and record-keeping, identify areas for improvement, and coordinate activities with other departments such as Production, Logistics, and Customer Service. The position requires consistent attendance, including working 40 or more hours per week, and being available for weekends and evenings as required to support a 24-hour/7 days a week operation.

  • Ability to confer and coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and discipline Associates when appropriate.
  • Ability to direct and coordinate the activities of associates engaged in storing, organizing, and loading product.

  • Ability to read and analyze charts, work orders, shipping schedules, and other records and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Observe, follow, and model all safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Supervise all full-time and temporary production Associates by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Prioritize and coordinate the daily warehouse workload of warehouse personnel.
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employees' performance.
  • Communicate job expectations and coach the employee.
  • Ensure that all Associates receive demonstrations and training on equipment operations and safety procedures.
  • Ensures that established policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are implemented and followed. Seeks to maintain consistency with other shifts and other RP facilities.
  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring the quality of goods.
  • Meet warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
  • Meet warehouse financial standards by providing budget information, monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
  • Supervises loading and unloading of trucks and verifies that paperwork is correctly signed.
  • Maintain item records, document necessary information, and utilize reports to project warehouse status.
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures and practices.
  • Move inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from the warehouse, coordinating inventory transfers with related departments.
  • Maintain storage area by organizing floor space, adhering to storage design principles, and recommending improvements.
  • Maintain inventory by conducting periodic physical counts, reconciling variances, and inputting data.
  • Confer with management, other supervisors, and/or subordinates to resolve worker issues, problems, complaints, or grievances.
