About The Position

The Warehouse Supervisor I is responsible for planning and organizing warehouse and storage areas, ensuring efficient operations by considering factors like turnover, size, and weight of items. This role involves advising employees on proper handling, storage, maintenance, and shipping procedures, as well as determining work procedures, preparing schedules, and expediting workflow. The supervisor assigns duties, examines work for quality and adherence to policies, maintains team harmony, resolves issues, conducts performance appraisals, and enforces safety regulations. The position requires significant physical activity, including standing/walking for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Three to four years relevant, job-related experience, education or combination thereof
  • Forklift Certified

Nice To Haves

  • Two to three years supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plans layout of warehouse and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
  • Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves issues.
  • Completes performance appraisals on direct reports semi-annually and provides on-going feedback on work performance.
  • Advises and enforces safety regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
