About The Position
The Warehouse Supervisor I is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, including planning layouts, advising employees on proper handling and preservation of items, and managing workflow. This role involves determining work procedures, preparing schedules, assigning duties, and ensuring adherence to policies and safety regulations. The supervisor is also tasked with maintaining team harmony, resolving issues, and conducting performance appraisals for direct reports. The position requires significant physical activity, including prolonged standing/walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing, and regularly lifting up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Three to four years relevant, job-related experience, education or combination thereof
- Forklift Certified
Nice To Haves
- Two to three years supervisory experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Plans layout of warehouse and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.
- Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
- Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Maintains harmony among workers and resolves issues.
- Completes performance appraisals on direct reports semi-annually and provides on-going feedback on work performance.
- Advises and enforces safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned
