Warehouse Stocking Lead
About The Position
Meyer Distributing is looking for a Zone Lead to join their Jasper team. Meyer Distributing is a complete wholesale distributor serving automotive, RV/towing, outdoor living, marine, and more, with over 85 locations nationwide. Meyer Logistics, their transportation company, operates a fleet of over 500 trucks. The Zone Lead will be responsible for leading a 10-member crew, ensuring timely departures of transfer trailers with high quality and consistency. This role requires effective delegation skills and a servant leadership approach, with constant monitoring of the assigned zone to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to engage in repetitious bending and lifting.
- Ability to operate Forklift or Manlift (cherry picker).
- Must obtain forklift and manlift certification within 3 months.
- Must be able to work up to 25 feet above ground level.
- Must not be afraid of heights.
Responsibilities
- Lead a 10-member crew, ensuring transfer trailers depart on time with highest quality and consistency.
- Effectively delegate tasks and act as a servant leader.
- Constantly monitor assigned zone and ensure a good flow of operations.
- Set the example for perfect attendance and positive work ethic.
- Lead daily Tier-1 team huddle.
- Present daily reports and metrics for the Tier-2 huddle.
- Ensure assigned zone is set up correctly (skids, small parts, banding machine, tags, BOLs etc.) before the beginning of the shift.
- Ensure assigned zone is clean at the end of every shift.
- Effectively manage the team to disperse and stack skids with product.
- Maintain 5S scores.
- Maintain, and assist in developing SOPs.
- Train and ensure team members are updated on process changes and document the same.
- Maintain the quality of assigned hardware (Zebra Printers, scanners).
- Assist 2nd shift supervisor with associate assessments.
- Lead the team to achieve identified metrics (On time dispatch, LOT, Load Snap shot, FATL, Cartoning % etc.).
- Monitor team member schedules and assist 2nd Shift supervisor as necessary.
- Perform bin management, handle inventory exceptions, conduct stock checks, and check off trucks at the end of each night.
- Perform all other duties assigned.
