About The Position

Join our Stock team at Gertens! If you have previous stock or warehouse experience and enjoy a fast paced environment, you may be who we are looking for! As a Stock Associate you will load and unload freight by hand or with the use of a forklift, stage outgoing pallets for delivery, and maintain accurate inventory. Seasonal position will begin immediately and is expected through end of year. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age or older to apply and successfully complete a background search and drug test prior to starting.

Requirements

Previous stock or warehouse experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
At least 18 years of age or older
Successfully complete a background search and drug test prior to starting
High school diploma, GED or equivalent
Ability to work overtime when needed
Ability to operate tier lift truck or hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.

Responsibilities

Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
Assist with maintaining accuracy inventory and audits.
Deliver items to appropriate departments and/or locations.
Review outgoing product to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Perform all Warehouse functions within each department.
Maintain and monitor cleanliness of employees’ working area.
Ensure that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
