About The Position

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is seeking a Warehouse Specialist (ASP) to work in Fort Hood, TX. This role involves conducting a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of U.S. Army's supply procedures and policies. The specialist will perform second independent checks of ammunition and explosives, assist in proper marking and placarding, inspect containers, and verify accuracy of storage records. Safety and physical security are paramount, and the role may involve operating hand or power trucks. This job description is not exhaustive and duties may change.

Requirements

2+ years of relevant work experience in warehousing.
Knowledge of Army logistical functions.
Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 investigation result and obtain/maintain a CAC.

Responsibilities

Conduct a variety of warehousing duties requiring an understanding of U.S. Army's supply procedures and policies.
Provide a second independent check of National Stock Number, Lot Number, Department of Defense Identification Code (DODIC), Condition Code, count and storage location of ammunition and explosives during issue, turn in, inventory and preparation for shipping.
Assist in the determination or determining proper markings and application of markings of lite cans of ammunition and explosives.
Ensure proper placarding and compatibility of ammunition and explosives.
Assist in the inspection or inspecting ammunition and explosives containers, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
Route materials to prescribed storage locations.
Store, stack, or palletize materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
Verify the accuracy of Magazine Data Cards and Planographs.
Ensure that safety and physical security rules and regulations are followed appropriately.
Act as Warehouse Specialist Lead during absences.
Operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
