About The Position

American Furniture Rental (AFR) is looking for a Warehouse Specialist for their Houston, Texas location. This role is responsible for performing all duties related to incoming and outgoing merchandise at AFR’s warehouse. The specialist will work 1st shift with occasional overtime when needed. Requirements

  • Must have warehouse experience.
  • Able to lift couches, chairs, tables, clean furniture, etc.
  • Able to have a clean background and able to pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Good oral, written and reading communication skills.
  • Time Management with excellent Organization and planning skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform simple tasks, rational thinking and numerical calculations is required.
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 75 pounds, climbing stairs, bending, crouching, and being physically active for extended periods of time.

  • Prior warehouse experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Unload/Load trucks using an RF scanning device.
  • Compare paperwork to NAV inventory system.
  • Check NAV to ensure all Inventory has been scanned according to Order paperwork.
  • Post all collections and deliveries.
  • Confirm all paperwork and pickups via Logistics Dashboard.
  • Touch Up and reclass merchandise in warehouse using appropriate product protection.
  • Lift, carry and place products into and take out of racks.
  • Inspect merchandise for any damage or breakage prior to shipment or warehouse storage.
  • Record all merchandise discrepancies on appropriate paperwork and report to Management.
  • Complete inventory preparation for warehouse stock.
  • Stage merchandise to prepare for shipment as needed.
  • Fill customer order in accordance with Pick Tickets, complete appropriate paperwork, and place a copy with the merchandise for shipment.
  • Scan all orders and print pre-shipment paperwork as appropriate.
  • Operate forklift, palette jack and hand trucks following all safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly workplace.
  • Sweep up and remove / dispose of debris.
  • Follow safety procedures in accordance with training and report any dangerous conditions to management immediately.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
