About The Position

We have an exciting new opportunity and are currently looking to add a Warehouse Specialist to our berthing and maintenance team, supporting the Hampton Roads, VA area. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be able to pass a government background check and obtain base access credentials
  • All candidates must possess and maintain a security clearance
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to traverse narrow passageways, ladders/stairs, and confined spaces
  • Must be able to walk, reach, sit, and work in environments with occasional noise
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and vehicles required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience performing warehouse operations and inventory control preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Experience operating material handling equipment preferred
  • Familiarity with warehouse inventory systems and material tracking procedures preferred

Responsibilities

  • Receive, store, and issue hand tools, machine tools, replacement parts, shop supplies, and equipment from the tool and gear locker room
  • Keep records of tools issued to and returned by personnel
  • Search for lost or misplaced tools and equipment
  • Prepare periodic inventory reports and maintain inventory records as required
  • Unpack, inspect, and store new equipment and materials
  • Visually inspect tools and equipment for wear or defects and report damaged or worn-out equipment to supervisors
  • Apply protective coatings and identification markings to tools and equipment as required
  • Perform a variety of warehousing duties in accordance with established storage plans and procedures
  • Verify materials against receiving documents and report discrepancies or damaged materials
  • Store, stack, palletize, and rearrange materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods
  • Locate and move materials, parts, and assemblies between storage and work areas to support operations
  • Review production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine material requirements and priorities
  • Coordinate with government personnel regarding material ordering, overdue items, and material availability
  • Operate carts, hand trucks, forklifts, and government vehicles to transport materials as required
  • Maintain inventory and distribution records using manual and computerized systems
  • Respond to urgent calls outside of regular working hours per contract requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
