About The Position

The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. This role involves verifying materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages, routing materials to storage locations, storing and stacking materials according to prescribed methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials for deterioration and damage, and removing materials from storage for shipment. While not the primary duty, this role may also involve tasks such as shipping and receiving, order filling, and operating forklifts as a small percentage of the overall workload. The position also includes performing all other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of job related experience and/or training is required.
Knowledgeable of governing supply systems/programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals or other established guidelines.
Must have or be able to obtain licenses/certifications as needed to perform duties.
Must have a valid and current state driver’s license.
Must be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
Must be able to complete paperwork associated with the position as required.
Must be able to work in a fast paced, complex environment.
Must be able to read and understand Technical Manuals, Technical Bulletins, Army Regulations and Department of the Army Pamphlets.
Must possess basic computer skills.
Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Must have an ability to meet physical demands and pass any related medical examination requirements required to perform daily assigned tasks.
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
May need the ability to obtain and maintain a government Common Access Card (CAC).
May be required to obtain and maintain a forklift license.
May require the ability to obtain a HAZMAT certification.
Position may require travel.
Ability to work in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with U.S. Army combat and tactical equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

Noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
Routing materials to prescribed storage locations.
Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials.
Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.
Removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
