About The Position

The APEX Power Co. Project in Hubbard, TX, is undergoing Phase 1 construction and is expected to expand to 1.6 GW. This facility utilizes a variety of generation technologies, including Siemens SGT-800/400 simple cycle turbines, MAN/Everllence 18V51/60G gas reciprocating engines, GE LM6000/LM2500 simple cycle turbines, Pratt & Whitney FT8 simple cycle turbines, and a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). This diverse mix allows for flexible and reliable power output. Future expansions may incorporate additional GE aero and large frame units (6B, 7FA/7FB/7H) in simple or combined cycle configurations, enhancing the plant's ability to meet fluctuating energy demands and support data center grid reliability. As a Warehouse Specialist at the APEX Power Co. Project, you will play a crucial role in supporting both the pre-commissioning and ongoing operational phases of the plant. Your responsibilities will include receiving, inspecting, staging, and tracking materials, parts, and high-value components to ensure their readiness for use. You will be responsible for managing warehouse organization, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring the safe handling of hazardous, delicate, or oversized equipment. This role is integral to supporting maintenance, outages, construction, and commissioning activities, directly contributing to the reliable start-up and operation of a multi-technology power generation facility that includes turbines, engines, and BESS systems, all while upholding strict safety and environmental compliance.

Requirements

  • Experience in inventory control, procurement, and warehouse operations, including purchasing, vendor management, materials tracking, accounting support, and ERP/CMMS system utilization.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven experience in inventory management and warehouse operations within industrial or power plant environments, including handling specialized materials and high-value components.
  • Skilled in maintaining accurate inventory records, performing cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, and ensuring system data aligns with physical stock.
  • Proficient in operating forklifts, hoists, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and in accordance with plant procedures.
  • Knowledge of hazardous, flammable, or regulated material handling, storage, and disposal in compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to stage, organize, and prioritize materials for maintenance, outages, construction, or commissioning activities to support uninterrupted plant operations.
  • Understanding of quality assurance and compliance standards to ensure all materials, components, and spare parts meet plant specifications and safety requirements.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with operations, maintenance, construction, and vendor personnel.
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Accounting, or Finance preferred.
  • Relevant industry or military experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, stage, and track all construction-related materials, parts, and equipment to ensure they are available for installation and commissioning activities.
  • Prepare and deliver critical components, spare parts, and instrumentation to commissioning teams, ensuring timely availability for system testing and functional checks.
  • Safely manage storage and transport of delicate or high-value systems and components, maintaining proper environmental conditions.
  • Organize and maintain pre-commissioning warehouse spaces and temporary storage areas to support construction workflow, minimize delays, and ensure traceability of all components prior to full operational readiness.
  • Receive and inspect incoming materials, parts, and equipment to verify quantity, quality, and compliance with plant standards.
  • Store, handle, and dispose of hazardous, flammable, or regulated materials in accordance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and plant environmental and safety requirements.
  • Organize warehouse spaces to maximize storage efficiency, maintain safe access, and ensure easy retrieval of materials.
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions, including receipts, shipments, and internal transfers, to support audits and operational readiness.
  • Conduct routine inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and records, and report variances to supervisors.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with replenishment to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  • Safely operate forklifts, hoists, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment for heavy, oversized, or specialized items.
  • Inspect and maintain warehouse equipment to ensure safe operation and compliance with plant procedures.
  • Stage materials and parts for scheduled maintenance, repairs, or operational projects to ensure availability when needed.
  • Coordinate materials for plant outages, equipment overhauls, construction, and commissioning activities to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions for sensitive electronics, control panels, PLCs, and other delicate components.
  • Manage critical spare parts for turbines, engines, BESS components, and other high-value equipment, maintaining accessibility for maintenance tasks.
  • Prepare items for shipment or internal delivery, ensuring proper packing, labeling, and documentation for timely fulfillment.
  • Participate in safety programs, perform hazard assessments, and identify obsolete, slow-moving, or excess inventory to report to the Warehouse Supervisor for proper disposition.
  • Perform additional projects as needed while ensuring all procurement, inventory, and warehouse activities comply with company policies, safety, and environmental regulations.
