About The Position

The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties requiring an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan. The role includes handling and inspecting stored materials, keeping inventory, preparing materials for shipment, and receiving and routing materials to prescribed storage locations. The position is not-to-exceed 30 June 2027 and is assigned to the receiving second shift, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The hourly compensation listed is $21.73. The role may require obtaining and maintaining a security clearance, and may involve short-notice domestic and international travel to austere environments under harsh living conditions. The employee must follow Amentum’s safety, quality, operational, and environmental procedures and policies. Responsibilities include completing applicable training, supporting emergency response and self-aid/buddy-aid duties as appropriate, and complying with quality-system documents and customer-contract requirements. The work may take place in a warehouse or outdoors in drafty, noisy, and dirty conditions. The position may involve exposure to extreme equipment noise, electrical shock hazards, and moving mechanical parts or vehicles. Employees must use required personal protective equipment and may handle dirty parts and lubricants. Physical demands include extended walking and standing, climbing, crouching, crawling, bending, reaching, handling objects, and lifting, pushing, or pulling at least 50 pounds; some objects may weigh more than 50 pounds. The employee must be able to type using a standard keyboard and pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Six to twelve months of job-related experience and/or training.
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
Ability to perform work safely to prevent loss or damage of equipment.
Customer-oriented, with the ability to work courteously and effectively through difficult situations.
May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through email and software applications.
Able to walk and stand on level or inclined surfaces for extended periods; climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands; crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows and knees, and reach above or below the shoulders.
Able to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 pounds; may need to lift objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
Able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.
Able to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, and other equipment specified in the posting.
Able to wear required personal protective equipment.
May be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, including to austere environments and under harsh living conditions.

Responsibilities

Perform warehousing duties requiring an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan.
Rearrange and inventory stored materials; examine materials for deterioration or damage and report findings.
Remove material from storage and prepare it for shipment.
Verify materials or merchandise against receiving documents, note and report discrepancies and obvious damage, and route materials to prescribed storage locations.
Store, stack, or palletize material according to prescribed storage methods.
Operate hand or power trucks as needed to perform warehousing duties.
Perform other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Follow applicable safety, quality, operational, and environmental procedures and policies; complete required training and fulfill applicable emergency response responsibilities.
