About The Position

The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties requiring an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan. The position is not-to-exceed 30 June 2027 and supports Customer Service on a first-shift schedule: Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The role involves inspecting, organizing, and taking inventory of stored materials; identifying deterioration, damage, and discrepancies; routing materials to designated storage locations; and preparing materials for shipment. The employee may operate hand or power trucks while performing warehouse duties and must follow applicable safety, quality, environmental, and operational procedures. The work may take place in a warehouse or outdoors and can involve drafty, noisy, dirty, or austere environments. The position may require short-notice domestic or international travel. The employee must use required personal protective equipment and may need to obtain and maintain a security clearance. The listed compensation is $21.73; actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors. Benefits may vary according to employment type, location, and applicable agreements.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Six to twelve months of job-related experience and/or training.
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
Ability to perform work safely to prevent loss or damage of equipment.
Customer-oriented approach and ability to work courteously and effectively through difficult situations.
Ability to type using a standard keyboard for email and software applications.
Ability to walk and stand on level or inclined surfaces for extended periods.
Ability to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands; crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows and knees, and reach above and below the shoulders.
Ability to lift heavy objects that may exceed 50 pounds and lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds.
Ability to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification.
Ability to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, and forklifts.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required by the position.

Responsibilities

Perform warehousing duties requiring an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan.
Rearrange stored materials and take inventory of them.
Examine stored materials and report deterioration or damage.
Remove materials from storage and prepare them for shipment.
Verify materials or merchandise against receiving documents and report discrepancies and obvious damage.
Route materials to prescribed storage locations and store, stack, or palletize them according to prescribed methods.
Operate hand or power trucks as needed to perform warehousing duties.
Perform other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Follow safety requirements, complete applicable training, fulfill self-aid/buddy-aid responsibilities, participate in emergency-response tasks, and serve on safety committees or teams as appropriate.
Comply with Amentum quality policies, quality-system documents, customer contracts, and applicable operational, safety, quality, and environmental procedures and policies.
