About The Position

Working at the Fort Bragg Ammunition Supply Point (ASP), the Warehouse Specialist Lead (AMMO) performs a variety of duties which included, reporting to the Supervisor / Manager, provides technical and process expertise, responsible for task area guidance and mentorship, ensures workload distribution, identifies issues and/or concerns within the team’s workflow to the Supervisor, assist in problem-solving, developing best practices and improvements, verifying materials or merchandise against receiving documents; receives, stores, stacks, or palletizes, unpalletizes materials, conducts warehousing operations, prepares, and updates storage plans, removes material from storage and prepares it for shipping, works alongside with the Warehouse Specialist-CDL and Shipping and Receiving Clerk (Ammo). Maintains a positive physical security posture of all assigned storage locations/work areas.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass both federal and local background check to have unaccompanied access to arms, ammunition and explosives.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be able to provide US Citizenship documentation, such as a birth certificate or passport.
  • Forklift license experience required; current license preferred.
  • Must have a valid REAL ID State Driver’s License with no restrictions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI Tier 1 Public Trust.
  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.
  • Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Bragg Installation.
  • Three years’ experience on supply operations warehouse level.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
  • Possess high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to interact at all levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Ammunition Certifications (Ammo-45,64, 68, 75, 76) preferred or must be able to obtain within 3 months of employment date.
  • HAZMAT with Ammo certification preferred.
  • Experience working in an Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for assigning and monitoring the daily task and workload
  • Provides guidance mentorship and support to the team on daily operations
  • Provide technical expertise in all aspects of ammunition such as but not limited to, warehousing, storage compatibility, ammunition safety, accountability, etc.
  • Assist in receiving, storing and issuing ammunition.
  • Assist in the unloading commercial carriers and uploading commercials carries.
  • Verifies material and against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
  • Assist in delivering materials to prescribed storage locations.
  • Perform checks to ensure ammunition is properly stored, stacked, or palletized in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
  • Assist in conducting warehousing operations.
  • Ensure all assigned storage locations/work areas are locked and IDS system activated at the end of the business day
  • Assist in removing material from storage and prepares it for shipment.
  • Assists in conducting inventories through physical count and records item count on inventory documents.
  • May operate hand or power trucks in performance of warehousing duties.
  • Assist in the delivery of rapid deployment ammunition during Global Response Force (GRF) exercises.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.
