About The Position

The Showroom Warehouse Assistant is responsible for selecting and moving merchandise within warehouse racks and on the showroom floor. This role involves preparing merchandise for transport, loading, and securing it into customers’ vehicles. A key aspect of the position is the maintenance of both the showroom and the merchandise. The assistant will also handle customer pick-ups, perform minor repairs using hand tools, operate a Crown Lift, and may drive company vehicles for deliveries. Additional duties include receiving, identifying, tagging, and scanning incoming shipments, assisting with new merchandise setup, inspecting items for accuracy, and utilizing a warehouse management system.

Requirements

  • High School education
  • 0-6 months of related experience or equivalent education
  • Must be able to solely and safely lift and move materials up to 110 lbs.
  • Must be able to operate machinery up to heights of 35 to 40 feet
  • Must have strong customer relations and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English

Responsibilities

  • Removes/wraps/prepares showroom merchandise for customer pick-up
  • Provide a high level of service for customers in the store or picking up merchandise
  • Uses hand tools to make minor repairs to damaged merchandise in the warehouse and on the floor
  • Operates Crown Lift to move and transfer merchandise
  • May drive company vehicles and deliver merchandise to customer homes and other store locations as needed
  • Performs all aspects of showroom maintenance (Lighting, tightening of legs/knobs/handles/chairs, furniture repair)
  • Receives all incoming shipments (Shuttles from Distribution Center, bedding, frames, vendors, pillows, rug pads, and accessories) Identifies, tags, and scans merchandise
  • Assists Store Designers, Showroom Warehouse Supervisor and Showroom Warehouse Team Leader with delivery and set-up of new merchandise (including rugs) to the showroom floor
  • Opens and inspects merchandise to verify accuracy/match to paperwork/tablet
  • Using warehouse management system to research and locate merchandise
  • Uses and maintains tools and equipment in accordance with the company and OSHA safety standards
  • Any other function or responsibility as assigned by the Supervisor
