About The Position

Join the Staples World Class Supply Chain Team to deliver essential products to customers. This climate-controlled warehouse role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. As an SC2 associate, you may be moved among the listed warehouse roles or SC1 roles as needed. Assignments may include operating material handling equipment; cleaning and basic facility maintenance; replenishing, receiving, putting away, or processing returned products; and shipping customer orders. Work is performed in a fast-paced warehouse environment, and safety is a priority. The position requires following safety procedures and maintaining a safe, clean workspace. Seasonal temperature variations may be encountered despite the climate-controlled facility.

Requirements

• At least three months of related warehouse experience, or an equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience.
• Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent legally permissible.
• Basic English verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work additional hours beyond the scheduled shift; overtime is required based on business need.
• Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet or more as needed.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull boxes or merchandise weighing between 70 and 100 pounds by hand.
• Must wear safety composite shoes.
• Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to become certified as a material handling equipment operator and safely operate the necessary equipment.
• Ability and willingness to keep the work area clean.
• Ability to adopt safety procedures quickly and work safely.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Prior experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cherry pickers.

Responsibilities

• Organize, stack, and shrink-wrap customer orders on pallets.
• Load trucks manually; lift, lower, and carry products, and stack empty pallets while maintaining a safe and clean workspace.
• Depending on assignment, operate material handling equipment to pick up and move products within the warehouse while following safety procedures.
• Depending on assignment, perform general cleaning and basic maintenance inside and outside the facility.
• Depending on assignment, confirm product accuracy, resolve discrepancies and damages with colleagues, communicate with internal and external contacts, manually unload trucks, and palletize products.
• Depending on assignment, match returned-item quantities and descriptions to packing slips, check in returned products, and tag them appropriately.
• Embrace the safety culture and ensure safe work practices.
• Keep the work area clean and collaborate inclusively with colleagues and customers to resolve issues.
