About The Position

In this role, you will report to the manager of site services and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science. Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of experience in material handling, inventory replenishment, or customer service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
  • Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to customer service
  • High regard for safety, quality, and strict adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety, security clearances, and medical checkups.
  • Knowledge of Information Access and ERP Systems
  • Basic warehouse operations and managed inventory knowledge
  • Ability to make sound business decisions with limited consultation with manager

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field is preferred
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate GMP and non-GMP receiving activities including scheduled route deliveries, deskside deliveries, mail deliveries, and Point of Use (POU) management.
  • Utilize multiple systems (e.g., SAP, Citrix, Avantor Inventory Management Systems, ChemSW, and customer-specific platforms) to fulfill job duties.
  • Handle temperature-controlled, inventoried and non-inventoried materials, from multiple warehouse locations.
  • Serve as customer’s Authorized Agent providing transfer of ownership activities between 3rd party delivery services and freight carriers.
  • Operate manual and motorized warehouse equipment and perform equipment inspections as required.
  • Assist in GMP packaging activities to maintain production schedule to include cleaning of transport containers, tray folding, and outbound shipment preparation.
  • Performs material and/or equipment transfers between warehouse locations, as required.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Key Performance Indices.
  • Safely manage hazardous materials and ensure compliance with storage regulations.
  • Serve as a liaison with customer contacts, including purchasing directors, facility managers, and plant leadership.
  • Maintain training requirements and adhere to corporate policies and operating procedures.
  • Follows Warehouse Management lead to prioritize tasks based on changes in the schedule and business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • The expected pre-tax pay for this position is $39,000.00 - $62,675.00
