About The Position

The Return to Stock (RTS) Associate will inspect inventory and prepare merchandise to be put back in stock or moved to the shop. This individual will also pick and put away merchandise that is returned from deliveries, ensuring merchandise has the correct parts prior to handling or transporting. AFW is looking for someone with strong attention to detail to ensure all paperwork from Local Drivers is filled out correctly for all merchandise. The Return to Stock Associate will also be trained and certified on a stock picker to enable successful movement of merchandise to other departments and to backstock.

Requirements

  • Ability to have a flexible schedule and work all shifts, holidays, and weekends.
  • Commitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness.
  • Ability to work 0 to 35 feet above the ground.
  • Ability to work in multiple departments.
  • Ability to be trained in the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Capacity to effectively work independently of direct supervision.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies including but not limited to Dispatch Track, Storis, iPads, Excel, Word, etc.
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted in lieu of diploma.
  • Capacity to maneuver in confined and at times congested areas.
  • Capability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily.
  • Lifting, gripping, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving merchandise 8 hours or more daily.
  • Continuous use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back.
  • Ability to lift, lower, move, carry, push and pull all sizes of merchandise up to 100 lbs. and the skill to handle/manipulate merchandise up to 250 lbs. frequently.
  • Able to work in variable environments with different lighting, loud exterior noise, and flooring.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack, and cherry picker preferred - but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate material handling equipment to move products within the warehouse.
  • Identifying and reading reports, tickets and UPC labels.
  • Efficiently disassemble and assemble merchandise.
  • Properly operate a radio frequency (RF) scanner.
  • Inspect all power equipment and complete the Vehicle Inspection Report before operation.
  • Inventory Customer Owned Goods (C.O.G) and ensure the paperwork is filled out correctly.
  • Possess the knowledge and the ability to perform the correct lifting/team lifting techniques.
  • Confirm all paperwork is filled out correctly by the delivery teams.
  • Efficiently wrap and protect merchandise by using the appropriate materials prior to put away.
  • Coordinate and work effectively with multiple departments to continuously improve processes and maximize efficiency.
  • Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates in a cooperative, professional, and constructive manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Correctly use a hand truck.
  • Other duties to be assigned/directed by supervisor.
  • All training will be provided by AFW.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
