About The Position

Staples is hiring a part-time warehouse associate for a Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. first shift. Associates may be assigned to any of four areas as needed: Order Picker, Restocker, Bulk Selector, or Custodian. Duties vary by area and include accurately picking and preparing customer orders; scanning labels, cutting boxes, and restocking shelves; selecting, pulling, and packing totes; cutting cases or stocking product; moving full totes and cases onto conveyor belts; and cleaning and performing basic maintenance inside and outside the facility. Custodial duties include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, vacuuming, removing carpet spots, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning furniture and windows, and collecting and removing warehouse trash.

Associates are expected to follow safety procedures and support Staples’ safety culture while helping deliver products to customers. The position requires working in a warehouse with seasonal temperature variations and being able to perform assigned tasks on the scheduled shift. Pay is $22.25 per hour, with the opportunity to earn additional compensation by meeting certain productivity thresholds.

Requirements

• Ability to count and use basic arithmetic skills.
• Ability to work the assigned schedule and be accountable for assigned tasks.
• Ability to understand and follow job requirements and safety guidelines.
• Basic English language skills for verbal and written communication.
• Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, or carry products weighing up to 70 pounds by hand.
• Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time.
• Must wear safety composite shoes.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variations.
• Ability to adopt safety procedures quickly and maintain safe work practices.
• Inclusive approach to working with colleagues and customers, building relationships, and collaborating to resolve issues.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Prior warehouse or applicable experience, including fast-food work, stockroom work, working with racking systems, customer service, or package handling.
• Experience using a headset is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pick and prepare customer orders accurately and on time to meet daily production goals.
• When order picking above ground level, follow applicable safety procedures.
• Scan labels, cut boxes, and restock shelves to prepare work areas for the next shift.
• Select products, pull and pack totes, cut merchandise cases, and/or stock products.
• Move full totes and cases onto a conveyor belt.
• Perform general cleaning and basic maintenance duties inside and outside the facility.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms; vacuum and remove spots from carpet; sweep and mop floors; clean and dust chairs, partition walls, and other furniture; clean windows and brass; and collect and remove warehouse trash.
• Follow safety procedures and help ensure safe work practices.
• Be prepared to work in any of the listed warehouse roles as needed.
