About The Position

Upper Lakes Foods is the largest independent, wholesale food distributor in Minnesota. The company has three facilities located in Cloquet, MN, Northfield, MN and Janesville, WI. We distribute food throughout the Upper Midwest. Upper Lakes Foods specializes in serving foodservice operators such as independent restaurants, assisted living facilities, schools, and national and regional foodservice chain accounts with a strong focus on customer service. Simply put, the mission is to build value for each customer, employee, supplier and community we serve by bringing the best; the best products, best people and best ideas. You'll check what's arriving, and get set up with your scanner and equipment. As trailers come in, you'll move between dock, cooler/freezer, and dry storage, keeping a steady pace and staying alert around traffic and cold temps. Between arrivals, you'll tidy up as you go-because a clean lane is a safe lane-and you'll spot small issues early (a damaged pallet, a missing label, a short count) so they don't turn into big ones. Expect a mix of teamwork, focused solo time, and plenty of movement. Weekends, holidays, and evenings are part of the schedule. This position offers a four-day workweek: Wednesday-Friday, 6:00AM-4:30PM; Saturday, 5AM-1PM.

Requirements

High School Diploma (or equivalent)
Ability to read/write basic communications and do basic math
Forklift certification (or ability to obtain/maintain)
Regular attendance
Ability to lift/push/pull 60+ pounds
Ability to work in freezer/cooler/dry areas

Nice To Haves

6+ months warehouse experience
1+ year stand-up reach truck

Responsibilities

Receive palletized freight, verify it in our system, and put it away accurately.
Operate a stand-up reach truck, electric pallet jack, sit-down forklift, and clamper truck.
Scan and track pallets with an RF system.
Receive in a computer system and completing put-away.
Restock/replenish.
Meet productivity expectations.
Keep your area clean, safe, and compliant with company and regulatory standards.
Tidy up as you go.
Spot small issues early (a damaged pallet, a missing label, a short count).
