About The Position

The receiving clerk is responsible for receiving in all raw materials and chemicals from various vendors and entering the items into the ERP system (Process Pro) accurately and in a timely manner to allow all members of the company visibility of what is available for production.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to accurately count and measure items.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents and instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to identify and resolve minor issues.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 months of relevant experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Check all incoming products for proper case count and verify it against the accompanying Bill of Lading, Shipping Manifest and/or packing list to assure the quantity received.
  • If the physical count does not match the amount on the accompanying paper, sign the Bill of Lading as short and clearly indicate the number of items short on the receiving ticket and the freight bill.
  • Note damaged material on the Bill of Lading, describing the damage and noting "DAMAGED".
  • Consult the purchasing manager for damaged goods if additional input is required.
  • Enter all received items into the MRP software and match them with the purchase orders provided by the purchasing department.
  • Forward all receiving tickets, signed BOLs, etc., to the purchasing manager as quickly as possible.
  • Stamp an inventory label as "approved" on each container of the item, including the SAP part#, description, qty, manufacturer, date received, and approval stamp of the inspector.
  • Transfer the material to the raw material storage area outside of the receiving area.
  • Keep the receiving area organized and clean.
  • Inform the purchasing group if materials cannot be entered into the MRP software for resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
