A Warehouse Receiving Clerk is responsible for scheduling and processing inbound shipments, verifying deliveries against purchase orders, inspecting for damages, and maintaining accurate records of incoming inventory. They coordinate with suppliers, organize warehouse space, and address any order discrepancies. The role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency with inventory management software.

Requirements

  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel: Skilled in creating and formatting documents in Word and using Excel for data analysis, reporting, and complex tasks like pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
  • Clear communication skills: Effective in both written and verbal communication, ensuring clear, professional interactions.
  • Strong reading and writing ability: Capable of quickly understanding and producing clear, error-free documents and instructions.
  • Experience with warehouse management system (NAV): Proficient in using Dynamics NAV for tracking inventory, processing orders, and managing shipments efficiently.
  • Adherence to shipping and inventory procedures: Follows established protocols for accurate shipping, labeling, and inventory management.
  • Problem-solving skills: Able to identify and resolve issues related to warehouse operations, inventory, and system inefficiencies.
  • Attention to detail: Ensures accuracy in all tasks, reducing errors and improving operational efficiency.
  • Organizational and planning skills: Effectively organizes tasks, prioritizes duties, and plans workflows to meet deadlines and improve productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling Inbound Deliveries: Coordinate with vendors and carriers to schedule timely and organized deliveries, ensuring there is no backlog or disruption in receiving goods.
  • Communicating with Vendors: Maintain and effective communication with suppliers to resolve any issues related to shipment delays, discrepancies, or specific requirements.
  • Processing Inbound Paperwork: Accurately process Bills of Lading (BOLs), note damages or shortages, and ensure proper documentation is maintained for each delivery.
  • Printing Labels: Generate and print necessary labels for received goods, ensuring items are properly marked for inventory and tracking purposes.
  • Filing and Paperwork Submission: Keep detailed and organized records by filing documentation and submitting accurate paperwork to the personnel promptly.
  • Processing Invoices for CRM’s and RA’s: Verify and process invoices for Customer Returns Management (CRM) and Return Authorizations (RA) to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Cycle Count and Cleaning as Needed: Perform regular cycle counts to verify stock accuracy, and maintain a clean, orderly work environment, adhering to safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Adherence to Environmental Management: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and management systems, contributing to the company’s sustainability goals.
  • Troubleshooting Shipping Issues: Resolve shipping-related issues or customer complaints, coordinating with internal teams to find effective solutions.
  • Warehouse Operations: Assist storing merchandise by packaging and lifting items, operating equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks for larger goods.
  • Attendance: Consistent attendance is vital to the position, as the role supports the smooth daily operations of the receiving department.
  • This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
