1ST SHIFT WAREHOUSE RECEIVING ASSOCIATE
About The Position
Smalley is hiring a full-time Warehouse Receiving Associate for its Lake Zurich, Illinois location. The role is on first shift and is responsible for supporting warehouse receiving and related production work. Duties include operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment as needed, completing accurate documentation, communicating with teammates and supervisors, and reporting equipment or team concerns. The associate is expected to follow safety and productivity requirements, use appropriate personal protective equipment, participate in required safety training, keep the workspace clean and organized under Smalley’s 6S process, and review applicable department policies and procedures. Cross-department production work may be assigned based on business needs. Smalley manufactures precision metal formed products and serves industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical, energy, robotics, and industrial machinery. The estimated base salary range is $18.00 to $21.00 per hour; the role may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation.
Requirements
- Experience working in warehousing.
- Skill in data entry.
- Ability to pass the required basic math and English exam.
Nice To Haves
- Experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
- Experience working on loading docks and loading and unloading trucks.
- Experience driving sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
- Experience with barcoding.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment as needed.
- Participate in cross-department production work based on business needs.
- Provide complete and accurate documentation when required.
- Communicate clearly with teammates and supervisors about all aspects of the job.
- Report problems involving forklifts or team members and offer solutions within the scope of the role.
- Learn and follow Smalley requirements for employee safety and productivity.
- Follow safe work practices, use appropriate personal protective equipment, participate in mandatory safety training, and promptly report safety concerns.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized by following Smalley’s 6S process.
- Review all applicable department policies and procedures.
