As a Receiver/Checker, you will ensure that the correct merchandise is received by the facility free of damage, infestation, and in correct quantities. This role involves examining contents and comparing them with records like manifests, invoices, or orders to verify the accuracy of incoming shipments. You will record shipment data, including weight, charges, damages, and discrepancies, into the computer system for reporting and record-keeping. Maintaining accurate counts on inbound freight is crucial for ensuring appropriate warehouse storage availability. The position also supports inventory accuracy through cycle/directed counting and researches customer service issues related to shortages, overages, and damages, recommending appropriate responses. You will monitor the warehouse management system for open invoices, support the even flow from receiving to shipping, and communicate any issues or concerns. Identifying and monitoring high volume and high dollar items during the shipping process is also part of the role. Additionally, you will label all pallets to be stocked, verify inbound freight accuracy against the purchase order and bill of lading, and record discrepancies. Setting up items and slots for maximum efficiency in shipping and receiving, recognizing potential inventory hazards, and operating the warehouse management system are key responsibilities. You will also utilize necessary technology like voice or RF guns for product selection, audit pick/reserve slots, and verify the absence of rodent/pest activity in inbound shipments. Other daily, weekly, and monthly tasks as described in the inventory control SOP program, and other job-related duties as assigned, will be performed.
