Requirements

  • Create a safety and healthy workplace.
  • Warehouse experience required.
  • Must be able to read, understand and effectively communicate with team members in the immediate area.
  • Must be able to do simple math, conversions (mm – in., g-oz), and use formulas to compute run rates.
  • Must be honest, dependable, punctual, and trustworthy, and a team player with ability to interact with both management and co-workers.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Must be able to follow standard work instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 –2 years Forklift, loading, unloading, and inventory experience preferred.
  • High lift reach truck, and WMS system experience also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of the Raw Materials team to ensure that daily safety, quality and production goals are met.
  • Act as a front line commander ensuring maximum flow of materials with minimum delays on the production lines.
  • Act as a liaison between production, scheduling and customer service.
  • Provide visible leadership and guidance to all warehouse staff in order to foster continuous improvements and best practices.
  • Maintain continuous engagement with all warehouse employees.
  • Communicate daily with the warehouse leadership team/production/scheduling/IC departments to ensure coordination of raw materials activities.
  • Assist in transfer of information between first, second & third shift.
  • Balance pick schedules and work assignments (direct work) with the runners to meet production demands and customer requests.
  • Maintain the production schedule and monitor schedule modifications.
  • Maintain the schedule ensuring all components are picked before line is ready to run.
  • Complete status reports for production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory.
  • Interact with production leadership on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding raw materials shortages.
  • Notify the Shift Team Leader (Supervisor) of any problems with product or quality.
  • Manage the flow of raw materials in the most efficient manner while coordinating with pickers/runners, quality, production, and scheduling along with shift leadership on key priorities.
  • Print stickers/labels as production requires.
  • Update MIP as items are picked (color code system) for visibility.
  • Assist with weighing and tagging rolls of films, seasonings, and boxes as time allows.
  • Maintain the organization and material levels in the return stations and staging areas.
  • Evaluate the accuracy of RM tags (correct lot, expiration, etc.).
  • Assist with Period and Year End as needed.
  • Utilize Red Prairie for material transactions.
  • Perform all job functions in adherence of Shearer’s philosophy and values including; picking and returning of raw materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the designated Return areas.
  • Assist with picks/returns as needed.
  • Accept other duties as assigned, including but not limited to; flexing between finished goods, raw materials and inventory management as needed.
