The Warehouse Person selects, organizes, and processes material in the warehouse in accordance with company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy; detail-oriented.
  • Strong time-management skills; ability to work well with deadlines.
  • Good reading and comprehension skills.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work scheduled rotating shifts.
  • Ability to lift items weighing 40 lbs and perform duties involving stretching motions, stair climbing, ladder climbing, and standing.
  • Secondary school (High School) diploma, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift license (We provide certification training onsite).
  • Certified for Transportation of Dangerous Goods.

Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads trucks at Emmerson Packaging or at the Emmerson Warehouse, using a forklift, pallet jack, or by hand.
  • Moves material between departments, and between Emmerson Packaging and the Emmerson Warehouses.
  • Maintains stock areas at Emmerson Packaging or at the Emmerson Warehouse.
  • Check packing slips and labels for accuracy.
  • Retrieves and prepares material according to the production schedules and the shop floor papers.
  • Receives and maintains bills of lading and packing slips for use in reports.
  • Performs minor preventive maintenance on forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Housekeeping responsibilities in the department’s areas of responsibility.
  • Assist with inventory counts when required.
